Water System Improvement
This project included 610 feet of 36 inch casing installed under a key infrastructure, as well as in two environmentally sensitive areas. One crossing included the installation of 370 feet of casing under the very busy Interstate-15 and the other crossings were there to avoid the harmful effects an open trench line would have on the Beaverhead River and a Pigtail Creek.
The geology and high water inflow rates in the area required two methods of installation, Pipe Ramming and conventional Auger Boring. These methods allowed us to navigate the large boulders (up to 26” in diameter), which were present at all three crossings. Coleman Construction completed the project successfully in February of 2022, after coordinating improved methods with the engineering team. While working on this project the crew got to enjoy the beautiful scenery and big sky’s Dillon, Montana has to offer.
